Linda Staley Obituary

Linda Kay Staley, affectionally known to her friends and family as “the Gardener” or Linda Lou, entered eternal life on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 68, at her home in Cambridge City, Indiana, with her daughters and husband by her side, after a courageous and dignified battle with lung cancer.

Born on November 15, 1957 to Douglas H. Staley and Viola K. Staley-Williston in Middletown, Ohio. She grew up in Camden, Ohio and graduated from Preble Shawnee High School, class of 1976. She spent most of her life around Preble County, Ohio, or in Wayne County, Indiana.

Linda will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, humor, hard work ethic, her love of plants, and nature. She will also always be remembered for her strong will, and courage. Her hobbies were a reflection of her diverse interests and vibrant personality. Linda found solace and peace in gardening and tending to her plants with love and care. Linda loved to collect rocks, feathers, and leaves.

Linda’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the enduring strength of family bonds. Family meant a lot to Linda. She loved her husband, three daughters, and six grandchildren very much. Her children and grandchildren brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life. Linda’s memory will continue to be forever cherished by her loved ones.

Linda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dennis Lintner, her daughters, Zoie (Kyle) Dorgan, Shauna Lintner, and Reanna Lintner, grandchildren, Gabriel Lintner, Abigail Millar, Elijah Dorgan, Kobe Millar, Ellie Dorgan, and Lilly Dorgan.

Linda’s departure casts a shadow upon the hearts of those who knew her, yet her story is etched in the annals of time. Her laughter, once a symphony in the plants she tended, now whispers through the leaves, and her strength, a lighthouse for the souls she leaves behind. In the garden of eternity, her spirit blooms – forever a part of the infinite, forever remembered, forever missed.
